Football team ends season at Alamodome
December 16, 2022
Last Saturday the Eagle football team played College Station in the UIL football semi-finals at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
”It was a tough loss,” Coach Leyton Hernandez said. “It’s just one of those things where you get put in a situation and you’re sitting in there fighting and things don’t go your way.”
In this game, Vets missed the win to College Station in a 7-33 loss, marking the end of the 2022 football season for vets. If the team won, they would’ve been scheduled to play the Aledo Bearcats at AT&T stadium in Dallas.
“If college station was tough Aledo would’ve been just as tough,” Hernandez said.
Now that the season is over, the varsity football team will head into its off-season where it will prepare and practice for next year’s season.
“We’re going to get stronger, and faster.” junior offensive linemen Adrian Gonzales said. “We’ve lost in the semi-finals two out of the last three years, so I think finally getting over that hump would be a good goal for next season,”
