After the victory against McAllen ISD at their home field last Friday, the VMHS football team will now advance to round four of the playoffs against PSJA North High School. It will be held this Saturday at 6 p.m.

”It was a hard fought game, pretty intense,” player Zachary Smith said. “We started off slow but we picked it up after halftime and it felt good.”

PSJA North high school is an early college high school from Pharr, TX. They are 7-0 in district and 13-0 overall in their ratings. Whereas Vets is 7-0 in district, and 13-1 overall in their ratings.

”PSJA North is a really interesting team,” player Adrian Gonzales said. “I think if we can contain their running game we’ll be able to have a good change of coming out on top.

If the team wins this game, they will go on to play College Station at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio on Saturday, Dec 10. If they advance to the state competition, it will be at AT&T Stadium in Houston. Details on that game are still to be determined.
