‘Doc’s Seafood and Steaks’ a Wonderful Atmosphere and Great Food

Bianca Covarrubias

Being on the Island which is a hot spot for seafood and ocean views, Doc’s Seafood and Steaks is not only great food-wise but can guarantee a welcoming homely feel. The restaurant was established in the fall of 2004 by prolonged island resident Bill Blankenship, or best known as “Doc” who enjoyed being by the water and seeing other islanders having fun and enjoying themselves. While Blankenship passed away in 2010, the feelings he felt by the water still lives on at Doc’s.

Along with a familiar ocean breeze, walking in you immediately are confronted with the smell of freshly cooked seafood. This breeze lingers on an open deck where your food is delivered by a hostess who ensures that your food is delivered on time and with grace. Even with its busy atmosphere, I never had a doubt that they were trying to rush my order. The servers made sure I was heard and that I enjoyed every part of my meal.

People of course will appreciate the great service at Doc’s, but people truly come to restaurants for the food. With it being a seafood restaurant I got fried shrimp, coleslaw, and their seashore french fries. The food came out in a timely manner and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. With such great food comes a cost, however it’s not heavenly expensive but still a level up from a fast food joint.

Doc’s is a place that I will be constantly revisiting during the summer and recommending to others looking for great food, service, and atmosphere.
