Last weekend marching band participated in its third marching contest this year. In the past, it advanced to the UIL area G marching contest in Weslaco, TX. While there, it came in 9th place in Area marching contest and advanced to Area G finals. At Area G finals, the bands lucky streak came to an end as they scored 10th place at area finals.

“There honestly wasn’t too many mistakes,” Drum Major Catarina Martinez said. “We actually had a very good execution of the show the day of area, but it was just a little minor tweak here and there. Other than that we had a great run.”

That being said, the band was able to walk away with an Area plaque and the title of “Best Marching Band in Corpus Christi and CCISD”, as no other Corpus Christi marching band was fortunate enough to make it to Area Finals.

“Right now color guard is working on their spring show and the band is working on our Christmas music for the Christmas concert, and right after Christmas concert were going to start working on our spring music so we can go to UIL”. Said Catarina Martinez.
