Baseball Faces Kerrville for Championship Spot

May 30, 2018

The VMHS baseball team has advanced onto the fifth round of playoffs. They will be facing off against Tivy High School in Kerrville at 7:30 p.m on Thursday. This match is the first of a three game series. The second game, and third if necessary, will be played on Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. at Whataburger Field. If they win this series, they’ll be moving onto round six, which is one round away from the state championship game.

“I’ve been looking forward to this game, and I want to prove our teams skills,“ sophomore Kobe Andrade said.

The Eagles have shown a strong performance this season, with a record of 32 wins and six losses.

Due to the game taking place on Saturday, which is the same day as senior graduation, the five seniors of our baseball team including Jeffrey Boggess, Jaythan Luna, Jesus Rodriguez, Javier Jacinto, and Louis Rodriguez will be announced and given their diplomas first in order to leave graduation early to make it to the game on time.
